Brand Identity Inspired by Brazilian Flag, Fauna, and Renowned Artists

In a world where design often draws from a global pool of inspiration, the visual identity of the blog "Designers Brasileiros" stands out with its unique blend of Brazilian culture, art, and nature. This project, helmed by Tiago de Albuquerque Sales e Kiemle, is a testament to the power of local inspiration and the potential of design to disseminate knowledge.

Designers Brasileiros is a blog aimed at the Brazilian design market, with a focus on knowledge dissemination in the field. The blog's visual identity draws from a rich tapestry of Brazilian influences, including the national flag, fauna, flora, and the works of renowned artists such as Athos Bulcao and Di Cavalcanti.

The blog's brand is a geometric panel in the shape of the letter 'D', composed of pieces that represent design specialties. These pieces, extracted from the Brazilian flag, also form a letter 'B' and a toucan. The toucan, one of the largest seed dispersers of the Brazilian fauna and a key player in the formation of tropical forests, symbolizes the blog's mission of disseminating knowledge.

The brand was developed graphically using the golden ratio, a mathematical principle often used in art and design for its aesthetic appeal. Specifically, a technique called the squared golden ratio was employed, positioning gold rectangles proportionally to form a gold square. This square served as the grid that formed a harmonious and proportionally intentional symbol.

The project, which began in October 2020 and concluded in January 2021, was developed with a design project methodology that involved research on the client's history, Brazilian culture, golden ratio techniques applied to design, and studies on how to graphically represent concepts such as knowledge dissemination in a uniquely Brazilian way.

The brand of Designers Brasileiros is not just a visual identity; it is a celebration of Brazilian design, culture, and nature. It is a testament to the power of local inspiration and the potential of design to disseminate knowledge. And it is a winner, having been awarded the Golden A' Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design Award in 2021, a prestigious accolade granted to creations that reflect the designer's prodigy and wisdom, advance art, science, design, and technology, and significantly impact the world with their desirable characteristics.
