Golden Dot Invasion: A Dazzling Display of Art and Innovation

Impactplan Art Productions Transforms Spaces with Midas Touch Inspired Installation

Impactplan Art Productions, renowned for their unique and engaging art installations, have once again pushed the boundaries of design and innovation with their latest project, the Golden Dot Invasion. This article explores the inspiration, unique properties, and technical aspects of this award-winning design.

The Golden Dot Invasion, an ephemeral art installation, was inspired by the legend of Midas, a king who could turn everything he touched into gold. The installation aims to transform the viewer's state of mind into something happier and lighter, much like how Midas transformed objects into gold. The installation was set up outside the Hotel Ritz Carlton Bahrain as a unique Christmas decoration.

What sets the Golden Dot Invasion apart from other installations is its dynamic nature. The installation moves with the wind, shines, and creates reflections in the surrounding area, depending on the incidence of light. At night, hidden lights amidst the golden sequins create a different image, engaging viewers and encouraging them to share the experience on social media, thereby increasing the client's notoriety through art.

The installation was created using 2600m2 of reinforced PVC net, to which 1,000,000 sequins of about 90mm in diameter each were affixed. The sequins were arranged in chains of variable sizes to create a tunnel effect. LED light curtains in golden tones were placed every 1000mm, hidden between the golden sequins, to surprise viewers when the lights turn on at the end of the day.

The Golden Dot Invasion was a result of meticulous planning and hard work. The main challenge was to create a "portable" art installation of this size and find solutions for its transport and quick assembly on site. The project involved a lot of artisanal work in its preparation and involved more than 100 people and hundreds of hours of manual work during two months of assemblies.

The installation was awarded the Golden A' Fine Arts and Art Installation Design Award in 2021. This prestigious award is granted to marvelous, outstanding, and trendsetting creations that reflect the designer's prodigy and wisdom. The Golden Dot Invasion is indeed a testament to Impactplan Art Productions' commitment to advancing art, design, and technology, embodying extraordinary excellence and significantly impacting the world with their desirable characteristics.

In conclusion, the Golden Dot Invasion is a shining example of how art and innovation can transform spaces and create engaging experiences. Through their unique approach to design and meticulous attention to detail, Impactplan Art Productions continues to push the boundaries of what is possible in the realm of art installations.
