Golden Mile: A Suprematist-Inspired Interior Space

An Immersive Experience in Endless White Space and Geometry

Inspired by suprematism, designer Maxim Kashin has created Golden Mile, a three-dimensional installation that submerges individuals into a world of endless white space, color, and geometry. This interior design concept aims to showcase the superiority of pure geometry and color over traditional forms and space perception.

Golden Mile stands out with its unique use of white color, reminiscent of the endless space depicted in suprematist paintings. The entire interior is transformed into a geometric volume, serving as both a self-sufficient element and a backdrop for the interior's main attractions - linear geometric metal sculptures. These sculptures, composed of simple geometric planes, come together to form monumental three-dimensional compositions.

The realization of Golden Mile involved meticulous planning and the use of advanced technology. Prior to construction, the design was meticulously modeled in 3D. The materials used in the construction included steel, marble, wood, MDF boards, and faux suede. The result is a 70 square meter interior space that exudes elegance and innovation.

Golden Mile is not just a visually striking design; it also offers an immersive experience for the owner and their guests. The conceptual and emotional meaning behind this interior design creates a unique atmosphere that captivates and engages all who enter.

The project, led by architect Maxim Kashin, was initiated in 2019 and completed in 2020 in Moscow, Russia. Kashin's research into suprematism and its three stages of black, color, and white served as the foundation for the design. By connecting these stages, Golden Mile represents a synthesis of the 20th century's popular Russian avant-garde art movement, offering a journey into the world of endless white space, color, and geometry.

One of the notable challenges faced during the creation of Golden Mile was the installation of the metallic construction in the apartment's ceiling. Weighing 250 kg, the steel sheets had to be securely attached to the reinforced concrete floor of the upstairs apartment. Through careful planning and engineering, the team successfully overcame this obstacle, ensuring the stability and safety of the installation.

Golden Mile is a testament to the power of design to transform spaces and evoke emotions. With its white background and striking geometric sculptures, it creates a harmonious blend of art, architecture, and innovation. Maxim Kashin's creation has been recognized for its excellence, receiving the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2022. This prestigious award celebrates designs that showcase technical and creative skills while contributing to the improvement of quality of life.
