Bringing Nature and Fashion Together in a Captivating Showroom

Ayhan Güneri's "From The Nature" showroom, located in Istanbul, Turkey, is a stunning example of how design can merge the natural world with the realm of fashion. The inspiration behind this project was to create a space that represents nature's resistance against human consumption.

The showroom, which was completed in the last quarter of 2012, is designed for a prominent footwear brand. It consists of various spaces, including showrooms and a lounge, all interconnected to form a complex. Each space is meticulously crafted to reflect the brand's unique styles, manufacturing methods, technologies, and materials.

The standout feature of the showroom is the use of natural wood, juxtaposed against the rough concrete texture. In one corner of the space, the wood rises towards the blue ceiling, symbolizing the sky. This rising effect creates a net-like structure that seems to resist touching itself, mirroring the logic of the casual shoes on display. The walls are adorned with exclusive visual designs that represent the pollution of nature.

To further enhance the immersive experience, a 4mm thick transparent epoxy covers the floor, simulating an intensive water layer. This simulation symbolizes water's ability to bring life to the land and nature. The ceiling is adorned with Mouette simmetrica lighting armatures designed by Wilmotte & Associes, resembling birds and injecting dynamism into the space.

The realization of this design involved a combination of natural wood, concrete, epoxy, and lighting fixtures. The technical specifications of the showroom span 105 square meters, providing ample space for visitors to explore and engage with the brand's products.

Ayhan Güneri's "From The Nature" showroom was recognized for its exceptional design and creativity, receiving the Bronze A' Design Award in 2013 in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category. This prestigious award is bestowed upon designs that demonstrate outstanding ingenuity, incorporating best practices in art, science, design, and technology.
