Rustic and Elegant: A Tranquil Retreat for Leisure

Creating a Harmonious Living Space with Kuan Cheng Pu

The unique properties of this design lie in its expansive windows that draw in sunlight, creating picturesque views from every corner of the house. Paired with scrim curtains, plants, and style-designed single chairs, these windows transform the space into a serene retreat. The main wall of the public area is adorned with selected marbles, spreading their grains throughout the space and creating an elegant and delicate ambiance. The transparent and stress-free spatial feeling gives the owner the sensation of living in a perpetual vacation.

The realization of this design incorporates various materials and technologies, including marbles, glass-made cabinets, Europe-imported system cabinet materials, rugs, linear embed lighting, wooden floorings, and curved outlining methods. These elements come together to create a seamless and visually appealing living space.

The design specifications of this project involved dividing the five-story house into different areas, including the resting area, public area, private area, master bedroom, secondary bedroom, and study. The overall color palette is light and elegant, creating a harmonious aesthetic while concealing any complicated wiring.

The public area of the residence is an open and transparent space, with elegant color tones and marble panels that create a continuous and harmonious atmosphere. The private area, on the other hand, features warm wooden floorings and light tan curtains, adding a touch of warmth and humanity. The secondary bedroom is equipped with multiple closets to meet storage needs, while the study on the fifth floor boasts a wraparound desk as its centerpiece.

This design project was completed in March 2021 in Taiwan, and extensive research was conducted to ensure its success. The public area, with its multiple light gray and nude tones, showcases an elaborately selected marble with unique grains on the television wall. The use of scrim curtains and dark-colored elements allows natural light to enter the interior without overwhelming the space.

One of the challenges faced during this project was finding the perfect marble piece for the television wall. After numerous selections and 45-degree bevel three-dimensional segmentation, a marble with harmonic and clear grains was finally chosen, adding a touch of elegance to the room.

The interior of this residence is characterized by a modern and straightforward aesthetic, combining marbles, nude tones, and white colors in perfect harmony. The spatial division, enhanced by curved linear outlines, creates a smooth and transparent living environment that embodies elegance and semi-luxury.
