Scratch Cave: A Revolution in Pet Furniture Design

Gloguu's Innovative Approach to Cat Scratchers

China's pet market is rapidly expanding, with 27 million cat owners and an average of 1.8 cats per household. However, the quality of pet products and their impact on the home environment have been identified as significant concerns. Gloguu's Scratch Cave aims to address these issues by enhancing the living experience of cat owners.

The Scratch Cave stands out due to its unique properties. Unlike conventional cat scratchers, this product offers six times the scratching area, extending its lifespan and reducing waste. The design, reminiscent of an arch bridge or a cave, taps into the cat's instinctual need for security. Furthermore, its modular design and natural materials aim to stimulate the cat's natural instincts.

The Scratch Cave is made from degradable and renewable materials, including felt and paper, sourced from nature. In a bid to minimize plastic usage in pet products, Gloguu has also incorporated wood into the design of derivative products, which can replace the inner core for reuse.

The Scratch Cave measures 680mm in width, 310mm in depth, and 350mm in height. It is available in three sizes to cater to different cat families, from novice kitten owners to multi-cat households. The packaging box, designed for reuse, can be transformed into a cat sofa, further enhancing the product's functionality.

Launched in Shanghai in December 2020, the Scratch Cave project was completed in May 2021 and is set to be commercialized in China by the end of July 2021. The design is backed by extensive research into the needs of pets and pet owners, with a focus on strengthening the emotional connection between the two. The Scratch Cave has overcome challenges in supply chain and cost management, and has taken measures to protect its design from plagiarism, including patent applications and the integration of the packaging into the final product.

The Scratch Cave is a testament to Gloguu's commitment to innovative and sustainable design. It has been recognized with the Golden A' Pet Care, Toys, Supplies, and Products for Animals Design Award in 2022, a prestigious accolade granted to outstanding and trendsetting creations. With its unique design and environmental consciousness, the Scratch Cave is set to redefine the pet product market.
