Interior Design

The whole territory planning took the retiring house as the primary axis, improving the exclusive orientation of its space users. Unlike ordinary families, many people live together, and the needs of different age groups from elders, young adults, or young children may be relatively insignificant.

Modeling a private apartment with outstanding, stable, and humanistic intellect through natural material selection, low-key color performance, and harmonious proportion. After entering the house, there is no standard partition, and the entryway is directly incorporated into the public domain. This allows the vision to reach the barrier-free and abundant daylighting of the window view, enlarging the sense of space.

The homeowners prefer a space with a sense of calm, plainness, and texture, so the design utilizes natural, healthy, easy to clean and maintain materials with good weather resistance. For example, the TV wall in the living room is made of rough-textured slate tiles, deliberately dislocated up and down to give the cold and hard materials an appropriate sense of rhythm. The necessary electrical and mechanical pipelines are integrated into the wall in advance to keep the appearance clean and tidy.

The space spans 158.5 square meters and is a single-story house with a terrace. The primary design is to provide multi-faceted and perfect functions for the retired couple living there. There is an open living room and restaurant for family and friends to have a banquet, a combined Japanese-style room and tea tasting room that can enjoy the outdoor landscape, and an altar for folk deities that carefully reflects the traditional virtue of paying careful attention to funeral rites and recalling forefathers.

The design overcame challenges such as the long spans from the altar for folk deities to the living room and Japanese-style room, which required high-quality soundproof and airtight windows and doors. The borders were also specially strengthened to prevent leakage. The ceiling shape is interspersed with indirect light, and the airspace of the restaurant is equipped with concealed air-conditioning equipment. The segmented trench treatment was used to relieve the heaviness of plate pressing as much as possible.

This design was awarded Iron in A' Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design Award in 2022. The Iron A' Design Award is given to well-designed, practical, and innovative creations that meet professional and industrial requirements. Respected for integrating industry best practices and competent technical characteristics, they provide fulfillment and positive feelings, contributing to a better world.
