Guangzhou Gemdale China Chic: A Blend of Tradition and Modernity

The design inspiration for Guangzhou Gemdale China Chic came from the desire to continue the cultural life of Guangzhou city while catering to the diverse spatial needs of its contemporary inhabitants. The designers aimed to inject new meaning and functions into the space, enabling culture to act as a magnet, enhancing the site's vitality, and creating a visually expressive and sensory experience that links the urban mark of new art presentation and geographical culture.

The unique properties of this design lie in its ability to serve as a tribute to Guangzhou city, a place to reproduce the memory of the hometown. The elegant new oriental aesthetic demonstration area of China Chic in Gemdale is built with the idea of high mountains and flowing water and colorful clouds chasing the moon. This design reflects the blending beauty of classical culture and contemporary architecture, making it a gift to those who have a passion for Guangzhou's urban culture.

The realization of this design was achieved through the use of environmentally friendly materials. The lobby and negotiation area are wrapped with a fence made from wood grain film, which is both cost-effective and sustainable. The project, which spans 688 square meters, took approximately six months to complete and is located in Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province, China.

The design presented several challenges, including defining and leading the future way of life belonging to the new city. The designers had to balance the deconstruction of tradition with the inheritance of innovation, all while moving towards a sense of the future. The design's highlights include retaining Cantonese elements like Lingnan stone, kapok, oolong tea, and Guangdong embroidery, all presented with innovative modern art.

Guangzhou Gemdale China Chic was awarded Silver in A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2022. This prestigious award is given to top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs that illustrate outstanding expertise and innovation. The design was admired for its strong technical characteristics and splendid artistic skill, showcasing a remarkable level of excellence and introducing positive feelings, amazement, and wonder.
