Sesa: A Colorful and Sustainable Office Building

Creating Contemporary and Functional Spaces in an Existing Building

Our goal was simple. To create a contemporary and functional spaces in an existing building. It was hard to work with an existing building because it is really hard to solve areas when the main building construction system is blocking your way. Our customers love color, and ask for it. So we made a colorful, energetic efficient working spaces for them.

Davut Tambahar and Cigdem Tambahar, the renowned designers behind the Sesa office building, have successfully transformed an existing structure into a vibrant and sustainable workspace. With a focus on contemporary design and functionality, the team has created a space that meets the unique needs of their clients.

The inspiration for the Sesa design came from the desire to provide the best possible solution for their customers. By understanding their clients' business requirements, Davut and Cigdem Tambahar identified the need for more color and sustainability in the design. The result is a visually striking building that incorporates sustainable materials, textures, and functions.

One of the unique properties of the Sesa office building is its ability to seamlessly integrate contemporary design elements into an existing structure. Working with an already constructed building posed challenges, but the design team successfully navigated these obstacles to create functional and efficient working spaces. The use of glass separators allows for transparency and the flow of natural light throughout the building.

The Sesa office building spans three floors, totaling 1000m2. Each floor serves a different purpose, providing versatile spaces for various activities. The design team carefully selected materials such as concrete, hardwood, and steel to enhance the overall aesthetic and functionality of the building.

Throughout the design process, Davut and Cigdem Tambahar prioritized sustainability and modularity. The final design not only meets the needs of their clients but also aligns with their commitment to creating developable and sustainable spaces. The result is an energetic working area that fosters productivity and creativity.

The construction of the Sesa office building began in June 2016 in Izmir-Kemalpasa and was completed in September 2016. Despite the challenges of working in an occupied building, the design team managed to deliver the project on time and within a limited budget.

The Sesa office building has received recognition for its outstanding design. It was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in 2018 in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category. This prestigious award acknowledges the practicality, innovation, and professional quality of the design.

With the completion of the Sesa office building, Davut and Cigdem Tambahar have successfully created a contemporary and functional space within an existing structure. The colorful and sustainable design not only meets the needs of their clients but also contributes to a better working environment. The Sesa office building stands as a testament to the designers' commitment to excellence and innovation in the field of architecture and design.
