The Sounds of Nature: A Unique Residential House Design

Transforming a Small Space into a Coordinated and Bright Living Aesthetic

The classic of modern interior design lies in its shape, quality, and spirit. In this case, designer Xin Ma has made drastic improvements to the interior space, creating a unique and unconventional living aesthetic.

This residential house design, named "The Sounds of Nature," is a small three-bedroom house covering an area of only 82 square meters. Despite its limited space, Xin Ma's delicate remodeling has transformed the layout into a more transparent and bright space with coordinated proportions.

The main materials used in this project include ceramic tile, latex paint, and clear water. The combination of these materials enhances the overall aesthetic and functionality of the design.

The spacious French windows in the living room provide excellent views and ample natural light, reflecting off the marble floor to create a secluded and quiet atmosphere. The inwardly recessed TV wall with highly sequential lines adds a sense of rhythm to the calm space. Additionally, the square cabinet at the bottom of the TV wall not only enriches the storage functions but also enhances the overall orderliness of the space.

The dining area is compact and exquisite, with a dining table integrated into the wall that doubles as a small bar, adding a touch of romance to home life. The black bird decoration on the bar counter echoes the white bird in the living room, creating a visual connection between spaces. The storage cabinet on the side of the wall also serves as a dining chair, further enhancing the space's restraint and orderliness.

In the whole design scheme, Xin Ma has carried out a bold and avant-garde transformation of the original space layout, focusing on the overall situation and taking into account multiple elements. Each design change is reasonable and serves multiple meanings and functions, resulting in a remarkably complete and comfortable final design.

The Sounds of Nature design project started in March 2020 and was completed in September 2020 in Tianjin. The design has been recognized for its excellence and creativity, receiving the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2022. This award honors designs that showcase technical and creative skills, contributing to quality of life improvements and making the world a better place.
