Wei Ting Lin's "Treasure Chest": A Green Architectural Marvel

Revolutionizing Urban Greening with a Unique Real Estate Sales Center

The "Treasure Chest" is not just a real estate sales center. It is a symbol of urban greening, a concept that is gaining traction in modern architectural design. The building, with its box-like structure, wraps around a neighborhood park, cherishing and preserving the natural greenery. This design approach reflects Wei Ting Lin's deep respect for nature and commitment to sustainable architecture.

The unique properties of the "Treasure Chest" lie in its translucent volume and penetrating openings. These features allow the lush greenery of the park to be visible from the west side of the construction, creating a close visual connection with the streets. This design not only piques the curiosity of passersby but also showcases the brand's diverse spirit through the interior's flexible spaces.

The realization of this architectural marvel was made possible through the use of a steel structure for both the building and the interior. To balance the overall warm and cold contrast, durable and elegant teak materials were selected. The interior is paved with plain terrazzo flooring, a nostalgic Taiwanese design that echoes the humanistic culture and shortens the distance between the public.

Wei Ting Lin faced numerous challenges during the design process, particularly due to Taiwan's location on the major tracks of typhoons. The entire protruding steel components, structural system, and wind load of the reception center underwent precise calculations to increase resistance and security. The large openings on the east and west of the construction were prone to accidents due to high-wind pressure. To mitigate this, the designer used openings on other sides and ventilation corridors to evenly allocate the pressure on the outer wall and lower wind-induced damage.

The "Treasure Chest" is a testament to Wei Ting Lin's innovative approach to architecture and his commitment to urban greening. The design is a perfect blend of form and function, showcasing the potential of architecture to enhance the natural environment and improve the quality of urban life. It is a worthy recipient of the Silver A' Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award in 2022, and a shining example of what the future of architecture could look like.
