Kris Lin's Award-Winning Club House Design Inspired by Yachts

The River Palace, overlooking the confluence of four rivers, is a testament to Lin's innovative design approach. The club house's unique properties are largely influenced by its strategic geographical location. The project offers a panoramic view of the vast hinterland, providing a natural emotional experience field to the Pearl River coast.

Lin's design language for the project is heavily influenced by the form and function of a yacht. The outlines of the club house are streamlined, mimicking the natural form of water. This design choice not only enhances the aesthetic appeal of the structure but also influences the interior design, including the decoration, furniture, and the form of the space itself.

The River Palace spans an area of 3000sqm and features several private spaces ideal for socializing. The bar area is surrounded by decks, providing an emotional incubator for visitors to interact. The use of unified material extends the interior vision to the exterior, allowing people to rest in the natural scenery.

The project, which started in December 2020 and was completed in May 2021, faced several design challenges. One of the main challenges was to break the border to allow communication across the space. However, Lin's innovative design approach and understanding of urban and environmental characteristics enabled him to overcome these challenges and create a space that is both functional and aesthetically pleasing.

The River Palace has received several accolades for its unique design. It was awarded the Golden A' Hospitality, Recreation, Travel and Tourism Design Award in 2022. This prestigious award is granted to outstanding creations that reflect the designer's prodigy and wisdom, embodying extraordinary excellence and significantly impacting the world with their desirable characteristics.
