SBOF Mortgage: Revolutionizing Electronic Registration

Streamlining the Mortgage Process with Innovative Design

Sber introduces SBOF Mortgage, a cutting-edge electronic registration system that simplifies the mortgage application process and enhances efficiency.

Sber, a renowned name in the banking industry, has unveiled its latest innovation, SBOF Mortgage. This groundbreaking design aims to address the challenges identified during extensive research and interviews with bank employees. By collaborating with back-end and front-end developers, as well as various departments within the bank, Sber has created an optimal solution that revolutionizes electronic registration.

One of the key strengths of SBOF Mortgage is its user-friendly interface, which draws inspiration from the successful SBBOL and internal systems of the bank. This ensures a seamless and intuitive experience for both bank employees and customers. The system automatically assigns tasks to employees based on their status and priority, streamlining the workflow. Each employee is provided with an electronic signature and an individual personal account, enhancing security and accountability.

The notification system integrated into SBOF Mortgage allows users to stay updated on service changes and application statuses. Additionally, the system's user data storage and automatic form filling capabilities enable the registration of repeated applications in a matter of minutes. These features have contributed to the system's remarkable growth, with the number of users increasing from 263 in January 2021 to an impressive 1,085 in January 2022.

From a technical standpoint, Sber employed a range of tools and technologies to bring SBOF Mortgage to life. The design development process involved the use of Sketch, Principle, Zeplin, and Figma, ensuring a seamless transition from design to development. The project also utilized Ant.Design and elements of the Triplex internal banking system as component libraries. Throughout the development stages, Sber closely monitored the effectiveness of the interface changes through internal statistics, metrics, surveys, feedback collection, and analytics of support requests.

With its adaptive design, SBOF Mortgage caters to users across various devices, including desktops, tablets, and smartphones. The project's technical specifications were meticulously documented, with separate files created for individual functions in Figma. Prototypes within these functions consist of logical modules that align with the main flow, allowing for iterative development. The Ant.Design library was adapted and refined to align with the Bank's overall style and the objectives of the project.

The implementation of SBOF Mortgage began in December 2019 in Moscow. In April 2020, real estate registration was launched for individuals, and by October 2020, the scope expanded to include legal entities. The project is currently in the implementation and optimization phase, ensuring a seamless and efficient experience for users.

Sber's design process for SBOF Mortgage was rooted in extensive research. Stakeholder interviews provided valuable insights into business objectives and the target audience. Focus groups helped identify pain points in the existing state registrar system and document upload process. Additionally, interviews with the target audience, testing, customer journey mapping, and data analysis contributed to the design's success.

The development of SBOF Mortgage was not without its challenges. From a design perspective, the transition from paper-based processes to a web interface required a comprehensive analysis of the paper processing experience. Sber successfully translated this experience into an online application system while maintaining stylistic uniformity with other bank systems. The automatic distribution of tasks between employees was another significant challenge, which was overcome by minimizing the time between entering the service and assigning new tasks.

As for the intellectual property, SBOF Mortgage is a product of Sber's ingenuity and expertise. The design is protected under Sber's intellectual property rights, ensuring its uniqueness and exclusivity.

SBOF Mortgage has garnered recognition and acclaim within the design community. It was awarded the prestigious Iron A' Design Award in 2022 in the Interface, Interaction, and User Experience Design category. This accolade is a testament to the design's practicality, innovation, and adherence to industry best practices.

Sber's SBOF Mortgage is a game-changer in the mortgage industry, revolutionizing electronic registration and streamlining the application process. With its user-friendly interface, automated task management, and impressive growth, SBOF Mortgage sets a new standard for efficiency and convenience in the banking sector.
