WIT Bag: Blending Design, Functionality, and Sustainability

An Empowering Multifunctional Masterpiece

Inspired by Women In Tech and created by Forbes Under 30 female founder Teresa Chan, the WIT Bag is a revolutionary design that combines style, functionality, and sustainability. With our modern lifestyles constantly evolving, the need for a versatile and practical bag has never been greater. The WIT Bag aims to reimagine everyday bags, offering the best of both worlds: ethics and aesthetics, luxury and style.

The WIT Bag is a true multitasker, offering five different ways to carry it. Whether you prefer a handbag, shoulder bag, crossbody, backpack, or top-handle, this bag has got you covered. Its fluid and supple structure easily folds and unfolds, allowing for four iconic silhouettes: folded, structured, slouchy, and expanded.

What sets the WIT Bag apart is its customizable modular add-ons. The Everyday bag insert and Laptop Sleeve are designed to pair perfectly with the main bag or stand alone as stunning accessories. This versatility ensures that the bag adapts to your needs, whether you're heading to the office, a coffee shop, or a weekend getaway.

But it's not just about functionality—the WIT Bag is also a champion of sustainability. Crafted in Cactus leather, an innovative plant-based leather alternative, this bag is lightweight, durable, and water-resistant. By opting for vegan materials, the WIT Bag offers a more ethical and eco-friendly choice without compromising on style or quality.

The construction of the WIT Bag is a testament to thoughtful design and craftsmanship. The side frame is reinforced to maintain the bag's shape, while the main bag is designed to drape and fold, creating a natural curvature. The bag inserts are made from waterproof and lightweight fabrics, ensuring that your belongings stay safe and organized.

Measuring at Width 370mm x Depth 115mm x Height 290mm and weighing only 900 grams (for the WIT Bag alone), this bag is spacious enough to accommodate all your essentials. With up to 12 dedicated compartments for keys, bottles, laptops, and more, you'll never have to compromise on organization.

The WIT Bag is not just a design—it's a result of extensive research and testing. The team behind this innovative creation conducted in-depth market research to understand the pain points and needs of modern women. They found that versatility and practicality were top priorities, leading them to develop a bag that seamlessly adapts to different situations.

Of course, creating such a transformative design came with its challenges. The team had to overcome the technical and creative hurdles of designing a bag that is flexible, user-friendly, and durable in each form. Additionally, sourcing and working with innovative vegan materials required finding suitable partners with expertise in working with cactus leather.

The WIT Bag project started in August 2021 in New York and Hong Kong, and the product was launched in February 2022. Since its release, the WIT Bag has garnered attention and recognition. It was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in the Fashion and Travel Accessories category, a testament to its well-designed, practical, and innovative nature.

With the WIT Bag, designer Teresa Chan has created more than just a bag—she has crafted a symbol of empowerment for modern women. By blending design, functionality, and sustainability, the WIT Bag offers a stylish and ethical choice for those who refuse to compromise on their values.
