The Multibags Rebels were inspired by the changing needs of women in today's fast-paced society. The studio recognized the need for a handbag that could adapt to the various roles and activities of the modern woman, leading to the creation of a multifunctional object that could handle these demands. The result is a bag that can be worn as a shoulder bag, crossed over the chest, or on the back as a backpack. The transformation is as simple as dragging or binding the ropes or changing the knots, offering the owner the freedom to use their own creativity.
What sets the Multibags Rebels apart from other designs is not just their multifunctionality, but also their durability and versatility. Made from high-quality bovine leather with upholstery treatment, these bags are resistant to both weather and mechanical wear. The double-seam face technology used in sewing ensures the stable shape of the bag, while the durable boat ropes allow for repeated tying of knots. Furthermore, the bag itself can serve as a seat or a pillow, and the rope can be removed and used when needed.
The Multibags Rebels collection includes three models: VAGABONDO, RIBELLE, and FURFANTE. Each model is made from smooth bovine leather and comes in a vibrant red color, with a black rope, zipper, and unlined interior. The sizes range from 45 x 55 x 20 cm to 47 x 67 x 20 cm, offering options to suit different needs and preferences.
The design process for the Multibags Rebels was a journey of experimentation and innovation. Franco Arazzi Studio explored different shapes and forms, resulting in minimalist geometric shapes, volume distribution to the surface, and an emphasis on geometry with a double top seam. Despite the focus on aesthetics, functionality was never compromised. In fact, the bags offer multifunctionality, with the ability to change color and transform from backpacks to purses. Inside each bag is a small drop-off purse and a sewn-in carabiner for attaching keys.
The Multibags Rebels represent a rebellion against fashion dictation and stereotypes. They cater to non-conformist individuals who value functionality, durability, and design. The collection, which has been exhibited at Prague Design Week and the Oxford Fashion Show during London Fashion Week, continues to evolve and inspire, proving that design can indeed revolutionize everyday objects.
