The composition of curves and dispersed slats gives the cabinet a slender, delicate, and airy feel, contrasting with its otherwise imposing presence.

Handmade from solid hardwood using traditional woodworking methods, Casulo showcases the craftsmanship and attention to detail that Knot Artesanal Handmade Furniture is known for. The wood used in this design is reforested African Mahogany, donated by the Brazilian Association of African Mahogany Producers, highlighting the sustainability and alternative options in the timber market.

With dimensions of 800mm x 420mm x 1400mm, Casulo offers ample space for storage and display. It features three generous shelves and a single drawer, providing functionality while maintaining its artistic appeal.

Casulo occupies a space between sculpture and furniture, escaping the closed and square format of traditional shelving units. It invites interaction and engagement, inviting you to curate and showcase your decorative items in a unique and visually striking way.

The project was conceived and realized in Paraty, Brazil in 2021. The design process involved extensive research into organic forms, aiming to capture the essence of nature in a clean and simplified shape. The resulting hollowed-out wave forms inspired the name Casulo, meaning "Cocoon."

Overcoming the challenge of balancing the organic and minimal aesthetics, Casulo display cabinet successfully combines contemporary design with a touch of nature. It has been recognized for its creativity and ingenuity, receiving the Bronze A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category in 2022. This prestigious award acknowledges designs that incorporate best practices in art, science, design, and technology, contributing to quality of life improvements.
