Geometry of Fiction: A Unique Jewelry Collection Inspired by Persian Architecture

Unveiling the Beauty of Golshan Bathhouse

The historic Golshan Bathhouse in Yazd has served as the primary source of inspiration for the Geometry of Fiction jewelry collection. This Iranian architectural masterpiece, typical of Qajar-period Iran, showcases the intricate geometry that is synonymous with Iranian art. The collection pays homage to this rich heritage by creating new ring forms that draw from the bathhouse's captivating geometry. The result is a stunning jewelry collection that seamlessly blends history, art, and design.

Geometry of Fiction takes a bold and experimental approach to design, resulting in a collection that stands out from the crowd. The design process involved three stages of transformation and exploration. Initially, primary shapes such as cubes and cylinders were digitally manipulated using advanced 3D software. Then, the designers inverted the mass space of the Golshan bathhouse, creating a striking contrast between fullness and emptiness. This unconventional approach led to the creation of over 250 new shapes, each one a testament to the fusion of tradition and innovation. Finally, a meticulous selection process identified the most exceptional shapes, which were then transformed into elegant rings.

One of the key strengths of Geometry of Fiction lies in its realization technology. The intricate angles and delicate forms of the rings required a production method beyond traditional jewelry-making techniques. The collection was first meticulously modeled using 3D software, allowing for precise visualization of the complex shapes. These digital models were then 3D printed using resin material, serving as the foundation for the final creation. The rings were ultimately crafted from silver using the micro fusion casting method, ensuring the highest level of craftsmanship and attention to detail.

The Geometry of Fiction jewelry set consists of three distinct rings, each with its own unique weight and design. The pieces weigh 28, 20, and 2 grams, respectively, and can be worn as a set, in various combinations, or individually. The ergonomic design of the rings ensures a comfortable fit, allowing for effortless wear and a seamless integration into everyday life.

What sets Geometry of Fiction apart is not only its stunning aesthetics but also its ability to convey the complexity of Iranian art. The collection offers a fresh perspective from every angle, showcasing new forms and captivating the wearer with its ever-changing beauty. Each ring tells a story, inviting the user to explore the rich heritage of Persian architecture and design.

The Geometry of Fiction jewelry collection was brought to life in Tehran, Iran, between April 2021 and November 2021. It is the result of extensive research into the roots of Iranian design, with a focus on Persian architecture. By pushing the boundaries of creativity and embracing an experimental design method, the designers have successfully reimagined traditional forms and created a collection that embodies the essence of Persian art.

This exceptional design has not gone unnoticed. The Geometry of Fiction jewelry collection was awarded the prestigious Iron A' Design Award in the Jewelry, Eyewear, and Watch Design category in 2022. This accolade recognizes the collection's innovative and practical design, which seamlessly blends professional requirements with artistic vision. The Geometry of Fiction collection is a testament to the power of design to create meaningful and captivating experiences.
