BrightCell: A Chandelier Inspired by Red Blood Cells

Bringing Oxygen and Beauty to Your Home

Appreciating the elegance and functionality of red blood cells, designer Hamed Mahzoon has created BrightCell, a unique chandelier that combines art and science to enhance the ambiance of your home.

Inspired by the vital role of red blood cells in transporting oxygen throughout the body, BrightCell mimics their form and symbolizes the transfer of oxygen in a home environment. This innovative lighting design brings a touch of nature and tranquility to any space.

The main part of the chandelier consists of two layers: an outer layer made of glass crystal and an inner layer made of opal white frosted glass. This two-layered and cloudy form evokes a sense of movement and energy, while also providing a calming effect for the user. The unique beauty of BrightCell speaks for itself, making it a standout piece in any interior.

Measuring 600mm x 530mm x 660mm, BrightCell is designed to be a focal point in any room. Its size and shape make it suitable for a variety of spaces, from living rooms to dining areas and even bedrooms.

Through the reflection of light in the second layer, the darkness of the glass is illuminated, creating a beautiful and relaxing effect. The soft and gentle glow emitted by BrightCell adds a touch of warmth and serenity to your surroundings.

The realization of BrightCell involves the careful craftsmanship of skilled artisans. The outer layer is meticulously crafted from glass crystal, while the inner layer is made of opal white frosted glass. The combination of these materials creates a stunning visual effect that is both captivating and soothing.

Designed by Hamed Mahzoon and Sana JafariSharif, BrightCell is the result of extensive research into minimal lighting design and the interaction between glass and light. The aim was to create a lighting product that not only exudes beauty but also evokes positive emotions in its users. The design process involved overcoming various creative, technical, and research challenges to ensure the final product met the highest standards of quality and affordability.

BrightCell was developed in Tehran, with the project commencing in November 2021 and concluding in December 2021. The attention to detail and dedication of the design team is evident in every aspect of this exquisite chandelier.

Recognized for its exceptional design, BrightCell was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Lighting Products and Fixtures category in 2022. This prestigious accolade celebrates designs that demonstrate outstanding creativity, resourcefulness, and a commitment to improving quality of life through art, science, design, and technology.

Experience the beauty and tranquility of BrightCell in your own home, and let its unique form and gentle glow transport you to a state of relaxation and serenity.
