The Hana Chair is a product of geometric simplicity evolving into a complex, living entity that fulfills both structural and practical chair requirements. Drawing inspiration from plant life, the chair blossoms into two petals, serving as a structural and functional solution to the requirements of a chair. The backrest and the seat are embraced by these petals, creating an elegant and daring piece of furniture that stands out in any setting.

What sets the Hana Chair apart is its attractive shape and the warmth of the material used. The choice of material was crucial to the design process, with Vidiella opting for solid wood, specifically charcoal ash. The wood, with its unique DNA and footprints, adds a touch of life to the chair. The chair can also be manufactured using different types of wood, such as iroko or walnut, depending on the user's preference.

The manufacturing process of the Hana Chair is a blend of technology and craftsmanship. The planks of solid ash are machined three-dimensionally using a 5-axis CNC milling router, following a 3D drawing. This process allows for the creation of the chair's complex geometries and ensures the lightness and fluidity of the piece.

The design process of the Hana Chair, which started and finished in Madrid in March 2022, was not without its challenges. The complex wood milling process required Vidiella to explore the necessary cutting requirements to achieve the desired geometries using the smallest possible thicknesses. However, the result is a piece of furniture that is not only visually appealing but also functional and comfortable.
