Mountain and Stream: A Nature-Inspired Residential Design

Infusing Elements of Nature into a Majestic Home

The Mountain and Stream design by Wu Su Interior Design is a residential project that seamlessly blends nature-inspired elements with modern living. The design team prioritized the clients' love for nature and incorporated stone and Eastern Feng-Shui impressions to create a harmonious and majestic living space.

One of the standout features of this design is the use of stone as the flooring. The overlapping gray, white, and blue stones create a breathtaking effect reminiscent of a mountain range. The sun, the moon, and the stars take center stage in the living room, adorning the ceiling, the wall behind the sofa, and the floor, respectively. The moon on the wall is covered with mirror material, creating the illusion of the moon over the treetops. The dining room and kitchen exude a calming water-inspired ambiance, with corrugated titanium panels on the ceiling and free-curved circular lighting fixtures.

The realization of the Mountain and Stream design involved the use of various materials such as granite, marble, mirror, iron, titanium, woven carpet, art trim, eco-friendly wood veneer board, and eco-friendly leather. Stone was prominently featured in the public areas, with a special round stone at the entrance symbolizing "money rolling in" according to Feng Shui principles. The living room flooring, made of granite with light-transmitting and mica crystallization characteristics, reflects light like a starry sky when illuminated by natural light.

The Mountain and Stream design is a 153-square-meter house with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a living room, and a dining room. Each bedroom is uniquely designed to cater to the preferences and needs of the occupants. The little girl's room features a fresh purple color scheme with a smooth Y design, providing functionality with bedside tables and a desk. The boy's room, on the other hand, incorporates fresh blue tones and wood grain elements to create a vibrant atmosphere, with semi-transparent wire mesh storage cabinets that maximize space for activities.

The design team faced several challenges in bringing the Mountain and Stream design to life. The layout and structural considerations were complex, and the client had specific concerns about safety and functionality. For example, the client wanted a table without legs to prevent children from getting hurt, but it still needed to be sturdy. The design team customized a table with an internal iron structure covered with woodwork and topped with green stone and coating, ensuring both durability and safety.

With its unique use of stone, mirror, and titanium, this design creates a serene and majestic environment that reflects the clients' love for nature and their desire for a functional and elegant home.
