Revolutionizing Coworking Spaces: Soco Work

Thai-inspired Design Meets Modern Workforce Needs

Discover Soco Work, a coworking space that marries Thai-inspired design with the evolving needs of the modern workforce. Designed by Kungwansiri Tejavanija, this innovative workspace has won the prestigious Silver A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2023.

Soco Work is a coworking space that takes inspiration from the Thai tradition of seasoning food to personal preference. This unique concept has been applied to create a variety of workspaces that cater to the diverse needs and lifestyles of prospective tenants. The design also focuses on maximizing efficiency and offering a wide range of options for tenants.

The uniqueness of Soco Work lies in its ability to adapt to the changing lifestyles of its users, offering a fresh and eclectic environment that redefines what a coworking space can be. It reflects the preferences of the young Thai workforce, with a design that takes into account the varying nature of work. The result is a vibrant, flexible space that is as dynamic as its users.

One of the standout features of Soco Work is its advanced security system. Using QR codes, members can access the space quickly and safely. The system updates daily, preventing key card reuse and ensuring high levels of security. Additionally, a hotdesk booking system allows members to check seat availability, including their preferred spots.

The project, which spans approximately 550 square meters, is located in the suburban area of Bangkok, Thailand. It was started in October 2021 and completed in January 2022. The design team worked closely with the project owner to study the nature of the business, owner preferences, and employee behaviors. The result is a workspace divided into two distinct sections, offering a variety of solutions for office and coworking needs.

Despite the challenges posed by the extra height of the space, the design team was able to create a more personal space for users by elevating the seating level of the common area. This spatial manipulation also makes the coworking space feel more spacious and open, as the varying seating levels allow users to have a wider view of the floor.

In conclusion, Soco Work is a testament to the power of innovative design in transforming the way we work. By taking inspiration from Thai culture and applying it to a modern workspace, Kungwansiri Tejavanija has created a coworking space that is not only functional and efficient, but also a reflection of the vibrant, dynamic nature of the modern workforce.
