Bold Space: A Fusion of Oriental Aesthetics and Modern Material Texture

Creating a Free, Open, and Intelligent Club-Like Office Space

The designers at Hui Sheng Architectural Design have transformed the traditional office space into a club-like environment with their latest project, Bold Space. By fusing oriental aesthetics with modern material texture, they have created a unique and captivating workspace that is both visually stunning and highly functional.

Overturning the past impression of cold business office spaces, Bold Space embraces a dark gray and wood color palette as its main tone. The use of various modern minimalist materials, combined with the integration of Oriental aesthetics, sets the stage for a free, open, and intelligent Oriental mood. This fusion of styles creates a truly exceptional office space that stands out from the crowd.

The designers' control of the proportion of oriental aesthetics is a key element of Bold Space's success. Rather than simply piling up decorative elements, they have strategically incorporated micro landscapes with landscape moods throughout the space. These delicate touches successfully combine the natural environment with the interior atmosphere, creating a harmonious and tranquil ambiance.

One of the standout features of Bold Space is the meticulous attention to detail in the micro landscaping. From the entrance to the public office area, and even in the manager's office and negotiation room, small bonsai and other natural elements are strategically placed to awaken a sense of reverence for nature. This integration of the natural world into the workspace adds depth and interest to every corner.

The main materials used in Bold Space are earth colors and materials that closely resemble nature. This choice creates an elegant and delicate atmosphere without sacrificing the texture and sense of nature. The layers and layers of stacked materials add richness and visual interest to the workplace, making it a truly captivating environment.

At the entrance of Bold Space, orange light is laid on top of a wooden cabinet, transforming the dark corridor into a micro landscape. The fusion of light and materials creates an introverted and highly oriental aesthetic mood between light and dark. Behind the connecting entrance cabinet, a material display area showcases a combination of delicate and warm stone and textured wood. Sculptures and floral art are carefully placed throughout, illuminated by orange light to enhance the elegant and warm feeling of the East.

The Bold Space project started in March 2022 and was completed in June 2022 in Guangzhou. Throughout the design process, the biggest challenge for the designers was to control the proportion of oriental aesthetics. Rather than simply piling up decorative elements, they carefully incorporated micro landscapes to create a seamless integration of the natural environment with the interior atmosphere.

With its unique fusion of oriental aesthetics and modern material texture, Bold Space has received recognition in the design community. It was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2023. This prestigious award is bestowed upon outstanding and creatively ingenious designs that authenticate experience and resourcefulness. Bold Space's strong technical and creative skills, as well as its contribution to quality of life improvements, have truly made it a standout project.

With Bold Space, Hui Sheng Architectural Design has successfully created a club-like office space that is free, open, and intelligent. By integrating Oriental aesthetics with modern material texture, they have transformed the traditional office environment into a visually stunning and highly functional workspace. Bold Space is a testament to the power of design to create unique and captivating experiences in our everyday lives.
