The inspiration for Wall-O came from the desire to create a seat that could be placed on a large unoccupied wall. After experimenting with different designs, the shape of a capsule emerged as the perfect solution. The challenge was to fix the seat to the wall without any visible attachments, while maintaining a light and minimalist aesthetic that would pique curiosity.
Measuring 760 mm x 500 mm x 1720 mm, Wall-O is a compact yet spacious seating option. Its recycled PET casing and high-quality ecological textile interior make it an environmentally friendly choice. The radical and minimalist lines of the design create an ideal space for relaxation, allowing you to free your mind and feel safe.
Installing Wall-O is a breeze. It simply attaches to the wall, whether it's in your living room or a waiting room. The soft acoustic envelope made of PET felt provides a sense of tranquility and comfort, shielding you from external noise and prying eyes. As you immerse yourself in this benevolent cocoon, you'll immediately feel a sense of serenity.
The Wall-O project began in November 2020 in Grandvillard, Switzerland. The first prototype was completed in February 2022, with the final version released in June 2022. The design received recognition at the European Product Design Awards in August 2022, further solidifying its status as a remarkable piece of furniture.
Wall-O has been awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category. This prestigious accolade is bestowed upon designs that exhibit outstanding creativity and resourcefulness, incorporating best practices in art, science, design, and technology. Wall-O's technical and creative prowess contributes to improving the quality of life, making it a worthy addition to any space.
