Beval: The Compact and Intelligent Air Purifier

Smallest in Size, Biggest in Performance

Beval, designed by Sun Max Tech Limited, is revolutionizing the air purifier industry with its compact size and intelligent features. This innovative device addresses common pain points such as limited mobility, high costs, and short filter life, making it a game-changer in the market.

Traditionally, there has been a misconception that larger air purifiers are more effective. However, this belief poses challenges in terms of portability, floor cleaning, and sharing devices among multiple rooms. Sun Max Tech Limited recognized these pain points and set out to create a solution. By reducing the size of Beval, they have maintained high airflow and efficiency while also making it easier to move and clean. Additionally, they have reduced costs and increased the filter life, alleviating the burden of frequent filter replacements.

What sets Beval apart from other air purifiers is its unique set of features. Despite its small size, Beval filters another type of air pollution often overlooked in everyday life - ozone. It also filters viruses 12 times faster than comparable products. The incorporation of artificial intelligence (AI) in the filter allows it to calculate consumption and determine the replacement schedule based on actual contamination levels, rather than relying on a simple time countdown. Furthermore, the device's assembly and disassembly are designed to be foolproof and intuitive, ensuring ease of use for all users.

Beval utilizes advanced technology to deliver exceptional performance. The AI function monitors filter consumption, providing a more realistic estimation of filter life and saving power. Four different air sensors detect various air indicators, including ozone, PM2.5, PM1.0, and volatile organic compounds. The filter element effectively filters dust while simultaneously suppressing bacteria and viruses. Additionally, three built-in UVC sterilization lights further purify the air. To enhance the user experience, the panel display automatically turns off in dark environments, creating a conducive sleeping environment.

Beval's technical specifications include a compact size of 250*210*412.5 mm and a weight of 2.7 kg. It is made of high-quality ABS material, ensuring durability and longevity.

The design team behind Beval, consisting of Hsinting Chung, Taiyu Chiu, Hungchou Chen, Weihung Hsieh, Chunglin Hsieh, Yulin Li, Yupei Su, Chenhao Fan, and Shihmin He, focused on creating a user-friendly interface. The product features minimal buttons for easy operation, including power, fan speed, and intensity controls. The panel display provides real-time information on air quality, with color-coded indicators representing pollution levels. When the filter needs replacement, a red indicator light illuminates, ensuring timely maintenance. The design team aimed to minimize the learning curve in human-computer interaction, allowing users to operate the machine intuitively.

The Beval project commenced in October 2021 and is set to conclude in November 2022 in Taiwan. Throughout the design process, extensive research was conducted to understand user pain points and needs. Questionnaires were distributed to gather user opinions, and field tests were conducted at each stage of development. The design team prioritized user satisfaction and ease of use, resulting in a product that meets the needs of its users.

Overcoming various challenges, the design team successfully created Beval. One of the main challenges was reducing the number of parts and saving space while maintaining strong filtration capabilities within the size limitations. Additionally, the team aimed to create a simple and intuitive human-machine interface, avoiding the common pitfall of overwhelming users with excessive features.

Beval not only prioritizes air purification but also environmental sustainability. While most products rely on plastic materials, Beval's filter element and product packaging are made of recyclable paper, reducing plastic waste and the associated recycling costs.

This outstanding design has been recognized with the prestigious Iron A' Design Award in the Home Appliances category in 2023. The award acknowledges Beval's well-designed, practical, and innovative nature, meeting professional and industrial requirements. With its integration of industry best practices and competent technical characteristics, Beval provides fulfillment and positive experiences, contributing to a better world.
