Senza Paura: A Luxurious Reversed Feng-Shui Residence

A Unique Blend of Tradition and Innovation

Inspired by the client's preferences and requirements, Tsu-Wei Chang, a renowned designer, has created Senza Paura, a luxurious residence that challenges traditional taboos with its reversed Feng-Shui plan. This neo-oriental design features a 22-meter-long corridor that connects the lives of the host and hostess, enhancing both comfort and functionality.

The Senza Paura project stands out with its unique approach to Feng-Shui principles. By defying traditional taboos such as "opening the door and seeing the stove" or "the bed does not see the light," the design reflects the client's courage to challenge norms. The centerpiece of the layout is a spacious 22-meter-long and 6-8-meter-wide open space that seamlessly connects the public and private areas, as well as the workspace. The designer skillfully uses corners to create highlights and incorporates oriental elements to add a touch of elegance.

Building materials play a crucial role in realizing the vision of Senza Paura. Hand-dyed oak, titanium-plated stainless-steel parts, marble, porcelainized slabs, frosted bake paint, Belgian wallpaper, and switchable glass are carefully selected to bring the luxurious style to life. The workspace, designed to maintain privacy and accessibility, features switchable glass in the facade, allowing for regulation of natural lighting. The circular facade, although challenging to construct and plan, adds a distinctive touch to the overall design.

Located on the 27th floor, Senza Paura comprises two new apartments with a total floor space of 694.2 square meters and an interior space of 429.7 square meters. The private area is tailored to the client's needs, while the public area follows an open plan that requires clear boundaries. Under the dome-like ceiling, purple wallpaper and a glass leaf-shaped lighting fixture suggest a transformative experience.

The ambiance of Senza Paura caters to clients who often reside in luxury hotels. The design incorporates features that accommodate their living habits, including ample storage, privacy spaces, and smart appliances. The private area, in particular, offers a customized hotel-like experience, distinct from the public space.

Completed in February 2021 in Taiwan, Senza Paura is the result of meticulous research and execution. The designer's use of marble, titanium-plated metal, hand-dyed oak veneer, and switchable glass creates a diverse and visually stunning space. Smart appliances, encompassing lighting, ventilation, temperature control, and fragrance, further enhance the human experience. The large space is flawlessly translated into a magnificent residence through the designer's expertise and aesthetic sense.

Overcoming the challenges of implementing a reversed Feng-Shui plan was no small feat. The designer had to consider the route, aesthetics, and redistribution of wires and pipes. Additionally, the integration of various designs into a large area with minimal partitions required careful attention to ensure a focused and organized space.

Senza Paura exudes luxury through its use of marble and titanium-plated metal, creating a sense of opulence. The full-height cabinetry and sequential line design add rhythm to the space, while the luxurious elements in the public area fearlessly challenge Feng-Shui taboos. In contrast, the private area offers a serene retreat for the client couple, allowing them to enjoy the space at their own pace while maintaining a touch of luxury.

Senza Paura is a testament to Tsu-Wei Chang's exceptional design skills and attention to detail. This remarkable project has been recognized with the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2023. The award acknowledges the project's outstanding creativity and resourcefulness, incorporating best practices in art, science, design, and technology. Senza Paura truly exemplifies how innovative design can contribute to improving the quality of life and making the world a better place.
