Lamps Collection

Concept Design by Ariel Palanzone

This personal collection of lamps presents an innovative proposal in relation to the conception of lighting objects, which in addition to fulfilling their primary purpose also have a strong sculptural charge that gives them an artistic function and makes them unique.

The floor lamp in this collection is influenced by kinetic art, allowing the user to direct the light at will through its articulated and flexible structure. This design provides both functionality and a dynamic visual element to any space.

The nightstand lamp in the collection takes the shape of a bitten apple, playing with the metaphor of light as a source of creativity. It serves as an inspiring study and reading lamp, adding a touch of whimsy to the environment.

What sets this collection apart is the sensuality of the "stretching" of its curved shapes, whether concave or convex. These tensions create a sense of dynamism and innovative value in the pieces, making them stand out from traditional lamp designs.

The collection also pays attention to materiality, utilizing translucent materials that allow light to pass through in a diffuse manner. This choice creates a veiled and mysterious atmosphere, adding an extra layer of intrigue to the lamps.

The lamps in this collection are made using 3D printing technology with flexible materials, allowing for the realization of the intricate and unique shapes envisioned by Ariel Palanzone.

The floor lamp measures 120 cm in height, 35 cm in width, and 25 cm in depth. The nightstand lamp measures 21 cm in height, 10 cm in width, and 10 cm in depth.

These lamps are designed to be intuitive to use, with tactile devices that allow users to regulate the intensity and directionality of the light based on the type of pressure exerted. The interaction with the lamps is seamless and user-friendly.

The Lamps Collection by Ariel Palanzone was exhibited from August to December 2022 in various fairs, art, and design spaces in Buenos Aires, showcasing the innovative and artistic approach to lighting objects.

The design process for this collection involved extensive research into current market products, technological possibilities such as 3D printing and LED lighting, and user needs for intuitive and aesthetically pleasing designs. The lamps in this collection utilize LED lighting for lower energy consumption and have been made with recycled materials to align with eco-friendly principles.

Overcoming the creative and technical challenges of maintaining the conceptual strength of the designs while ensuring their faithful realization was a priority for the design team. The result is a collection of minimalist, sophisticated, and elegant contemporary lamps.

This Design was awarded Iron in A' Lighting Products and Fixtures Design Award in 2023. The Iron A' Design Award recognizes well-designed, practical, and innovative creations that meet professional and industrial requirements. The Lamps Collection stands out for its integration of industry best practices, competent technical characteristics, and contribution to a better world.
