The Kahramanmaras Doga Hospital, designed by Quark Studio Architects, is a testament to the transformative power of design in healthcare. The architects approached the project with a focus on creating a restful and restorative environment for both patients and staff. The incorporation of natural elements and amenities throughout the hospital was a key factor in achieving this goal. The hospital's interior is adorned with artificial greenery, creating a calming and refreshing ambience that helps to reduce stress and facilitate recovery.
What sets the Kahramanmaras Doga Hospital apart is its unique design approach. The hospital's interiors prioritize a stress-free work environment for staff to focus on delivering excellent patient care. The design approach recognizes healthcare facilities as places of recuperation, emphasizing a holistic healing environment. To optimize working conditions for medical professionals, the hospital provides abundant artificial lighting closely resembling natural daylight. Overall, the hospital's design promotes a positive environment for staff and patients alike.
The hospital is currently being built using both concrete and steel structure methods, demonstrating the versatility of modern construction techniques. The hospital boasts a total build size of 32000 sqm, accommodating a range of services, including 150 patient rooms (standard and VIP), seven operating theatres, a hybrid operating theatre, a restaurant, two cafeterias, a physiotherapy and rehabilitation centre, an emergency department, ICU, MRI, radiology, angiography, laboratories, women's health centre, management offices, and various polyclinics specializing in a wide range of medical fields.
The design of the Kahramanmaras Doga Hospital is a testament to Quark Studio Architects' commitment to creating a holistic restorative environment that caters to the needs of both patients and staff. The hospital's design approach to health-centric architecture and integration of natural elements, luxurious materials, and amenities have earned it the prestigious Silver A' Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award in 2023, a recognition given to top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs that illustrate outstanding expertise and innovation.
The project, which started in 2022 in Kahramanmars, Turkey, is still ongoing. Despite the challenges of integrating natural elements and luxurious amenities in a healthcare setting, Quark Studio Architects have managed to create a design that is not only functional but also fosters a sense of comfort and healing. The hospital's design, with its emphasis on warmth and textures inspired by nature, creates a harmonious and calming atmosphere that is conducive to recovery.
The Kahramanmaras Doga Hospital is a shining example of how innovative design can transform healthcare facilities into holistic healing environments. Through their thoughtful design approach, Quark Studio Architects have demonstrated that it is possible to create a hospital that not only provides excellent patient care but also promotes a positive and restorative environment for both patients and staff.
