The RB23 Boutique Residence was inspired by the simple, ergonomic form of wooden blocks, a childhood memory of the investor. The design team scattered these blocks to create a model of the house, resulting in a light and dynamic architecture composed of three rectangular clinker solids. A wide and narrow window, reminiscent of old pulpits at the edge of the forest, is pressed into the body of the first floor, vigilantly observing the life in the surrounding forest.
Despite its modest size of 300 meters, the RB23 house is a residence in every sense of the word. It stands out from the typical monumental, multi-storey residences with its modern and dynamic design. The house is not defined by its size or the number of luxury amenities it offers, but by its unique architectural design and the atmosphere it creates.
The house was constructed using monolithic ceilings, brick walls, a sheet metal roof, and facades covered with clinker tiles. The windows feature aluminum frames, adding to the modern aesthetic of the house. Despite its compact size, the house boasts a clear separation of night and day zones, three bathrooms, an office, a guest room, and a relaxation zone that flows smoothly into a terrace with a small heated swimming pool.
The project was completed in 2020 in a forest village near Warsaw. The design process was not without its challenges, the most significant of which was changing the investors' thinking about suburban houses. In Poland, the popular vision of suburban villas is closely tied to 19th-century Polish manors, making it difficult for many to accept that a modern, functional architecture can represent a prestige residence.
The RB23 Boutique Residence was awarded the Silver A' Architecture, Building, and Structure Design Award in 2023. This prestigious award is given to top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs that demonstrate outstanding expertise and innovation. The award is a testament to the design's strong technical characteristics, splendid artistic skill, and its ability to introduce positive feelings, amazement, and wonder.
