Royal Tulip Warsaw Apartments: A Modern Aparthotel with a Historical Twist

Tremend's Award-Winning Design Blends Luxury, Home, and Office in a Unique Hospitality Concept

Warsaw's Royal Tulip Apartments, designed by Tremend, is a modern aparthotel that pays homage to the city's rich history. Drawing inspiration from the grand district plan of Warsaw from the 1920s, the design team has created a unique concept that is a tribute to the city's districts, offering a blend of luxury hotel, home, and office.

The Royal Tulip Warsaw Apartments, often referred to as the most beautiful place in Warsaw, is a unique concept that has been beautifully encapsulated in a single building. The design team at Tremend was inspired by the city's rich history, particularly its heyday in the 1920s when it was known as the Paris of the North. This period saw the establishment of the city's first entertainment venues and department stores, and the vibrant industrial life of Grzybowska Street in Wola. This history served as the leitmotif for the design, resulting in a "Warsaw puzzle" that reflects the city's districts.

What sets the Royal Tulip Warsaw Apartments apart is its innovative approach to hospitality. It is a hybrid of a luxury hotel, home, and office, offering a unique living experience for its guests. The design is deeply rooted in its local history, with elements of Warsaw's architecture and details incorporated into its interiors. This approach not only pays tribute to the city's golden ages but also brings to life a part of its history that has been somewhat forgotten.

The ground floor of the building is designed to resemble a map of Warsaw, inspired by the grand district plan of the city from the 1920s. The common areas reflect different parts of the city, including Wola, Srodmiescie, Powisle, Zoliborz, and Praga. The first floor houses conference areas, fitness, and spa facilities, while the apartments on the 2nd to 16th floors, like the rest of the interiors, are inspired by Warsaw's districts.

The design process was not without its challenges. One of the main objectives was to create a vibrant, full-of-life space that would not only appeal to the hotel's guests but also to the local community. The goal was to revive a space that had been forgotten by locals and create an interaction between the interior and exterior. This was achieved through careful planning and design, resulting in a space that is not only aesthetically pleasing but also functional and inviting.

The Royal Tulip Warsaw Apartments is a testament to Tremend's innovative approach to design and their ability to seamlessly blend history with modernity. The project, which started in 2019 and was completed in May 2022, has been recognized for its outstanding design, winning the Silver A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2023. This award is given to designs that demonstrate outstanding expertise and innovation, showcasing a remarkable level of excellence and introducing positive feelings, amazement, and wonder.
