Oslo 60 Pocket: The Future of Kitchen Sinks

Marcin Sznajder's Innovative Design Wins Silver A' Design Award

Introducing the Oslo 60 Pocket, an ergonomic and efficient sink design by Marcin Sznajder, which has won the prestigious Silver A' Kitchen Furniture, Equipment and Fixtures Design Award in 2023. The design addresses common consumer issues, offering smart solutions for modern small and medium kitchens.

The inspiration for the Oslo 60 Pocket came from identifying a number of consumer issues with regards to the ergonomy and efficiency of operating a kitchen sink. The key issues identified by consumers revolved around no good place to keep washing sponges, liquid as well as chopping board. Consequently, this was a key design direction that Sznajder and his team aspired to deliver.

The Oslo 60 Pocket design addresses these issues and delivers on desired features. It includes a sponge "pocket" with overflow to ensure safe and hygienic operation, a dishwasher "pocket" to fit 2 average size bottles, and a board holding slot with angled bottom to transfer water to overflow. The design also boasts an XL size bowl due to its 530mm top-bottom dimensions and a workstation system allowing operation of rolling mat, drainer and chopping board within the sink area.

The sink is produced using casting technology, designed specifically for a 60cm cabinet. It's a granite sink that offers a unique blend of functionality and aesthetic appeal, making it a standout in the market. The design tags associated with this innovation include sink, granite sink, kitchen sink, and kitchen workstation.

The design team behind the Oslo 60 Pocket includes Marcin Sznajder, Jędrzej Przeździęk, and Aleksander Utytskykh. Their combined efforts have resulted in a design that not only meets consumer needs but also pushes the boundaries of what's possible in kitchen sink design.

The Oslo 60 Pocket was awarded Silver in A' Kitchen Furniture, Equipment and Fixtures Design Award in 2023. This award is given to top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs that illustrate outstanding expertise and innovation. These designs, admired for their strong technical characteristics and splendid artistic skill, showcase a remarkable level of excellence and introduce positive feelings, amazement, and wonder.
