Wang Weidong and Han Fang have crafted a sales center that is more than just a space; it's an experience. Dubbed 'Villa in Clouds,' this project stands out with its dynamic use of lines and arcs, creating a visual journey for visitors. The design is a testament to the duo's vision of future lifestyles, where technology and comfort coalesce to form an upscale, relaxing environment. The space is not only visually impressive but also offers diverse spatial effects that cater to a sense of luxury and tranquility.
At the heart of the design is an hourglass-shaped art installation, a centerpiece that imbues the reception foyer with a rhythmic three-dimensional quality. The contrasting colors of white and dark green strike a balance, evoking both calmness and vibrancy. This thoughtful color palette extends to the children's area, which features a "time capsule" theme, bringing a playful yet sophisticated touch to the space. The design's strength lies in its flowing spaces, marked by curves and lines that guide visitors through a flexible and immersive environment.
The realization of this design hinges on the meticulous selection of materials and colors. A cohesive matte texture in the reception area sets a natural and pure backdrop, while circular installations and white curved screen elements in the property models display area project a futuristic ambiance. The design team's expertise is evident in the seamless integration of colors, materials, lighting, and artwork, which together create a harmonious meeting space. The circular columns that reach upwards, complementing the spiral cantilever, are a nod to the designers' attention to detail and structural aesthetics.
Spanning 1,000 square meters, the Villa in Clouds uses vertical lines to enhance the visual depth and tension of the space. The designers' choice of simple and calming colors establishes a serene atmosphere, inviting visitors to a world of abundance, satisfaction, and relaxation. The spatial flow is carefully curated, with the first and second floors connected in a way that adds vibrancy and life to the overall design.
Interconnectivity is a key feature of the Villa in Clouds, with each area designed to maintain an appropriate distance while still being part of a cohesive whole. The arc-shaped geometric structures contribute to a stunning spatial order, ensuring that the design is not only aesthetically pleasing but also functional. The designers have overcome creative and technical challenges by pushing the boundaries of design, aiming to create new perceptions and visual impacts that stimulate and inspire.
Located in Shijiazhuang, Hebei province, China, the project was completed within four months, from June to October 2022. It is a testament to the designers' ability to balance humanistic values with technological advancements, reflecting the aspirations of people for a better future life. The Villa in Clouds, with its immersive sensory experience and strong visual impression, has rightfully earned the Silver A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2024, marking it as a top-tier design that is both creative and professionally remarkable.
