At the heart of this award-winning design lies a 270-degree view of the ocean, framed by expansive windows and a 90-degree wrap-around balcony. This architectural choice is not merely aesthetic; it is a deliberate strategy to immerse residents in the beauty of their surroundings, fostering a connection with the natural world that is as seamless as it is breathtaking.
The design's unique properties are evident in its layout, where a 100 square meter indoor area has been reimagined by removing a partition wall. This bold move not only captures the priceless view but also creates a fluid space that encourages interaction and a sense of freedom. The entrance, featuring a raised platform with a practical wash and sand function, leads to a semi-outdoor Jacuzzi, the centerpiece of this luxurious abode.
Realization of "Utopia of the Sea" required innovative use of materials and design elements. Lightweight bricks and micro-cement coating were employed to ensure the structural integrity and aesthetic appeal of the raised platform. The interior design harmonizes with the seascape, incorporating Greek-style arch windows, wicker lamp art, and wooden elements that echo the tranquil blues and greens of the ocean.
The design's interaction with its residents is intuitive, with the removal of walls opening up the space to merge the dining and living areas seamlessly. This thoughtful arrangement delineates public and private spaces without disrupting the flow of the residence, ensuring that the stunning views remain the focal point of the home.
Despite the challenges of balancing cost control with the desire to present optimal space quality, Tzu Chen Tuan's "Utopia of the Sea" stands as a testament to the power of innovative design. It is a project that not only meets commercial objectives but also provides an idyllic living experience, recognized by the prestigious A' Design Award for its excellence in interior space, retail, and exhibition design.
The "Utopia of the Sea" project, completed within a span of just five months in China, is a shining example of how design can transcend the ordinary, creating spaces that are not only functional but also deeply connected to their environment. It is a celebration of the ocean's beauty, a luxurious retreat that offers residents an escape into a world of serene vistas and elegant comfort.
