Leafer Circular Design's Exhibit Wins Iron at A' Design Awards

In a world increasingly conscious of environmental impact, the Diax Project by Leafer Circular Design emerges as a revolutionary showcase. This exhibition, which won the Iron A' Design Award, is not merely a display but a narrative of possibility, demonstrating the multifaceted applications of Diax, a new recycled material. The exhibit's design, inspired by the need to convert project success into tangible business opportunities, was crafted to ignite the imagination of visitors and draw in potential collaborators for Chunlyn, a small/medium-sized manufacturer.

What sets the Diax Project apart is its commitment to low-waste and adaptability. The exhibit was ingeniously constructed using rental frames, modular display boards, and direct-to-board printing, ensuring minimal environmental impact. The display was intentionally bright and open, inviting engagement and exploration. Products made from Diax were showcased, illustrating the material's role as a catalyst for a sustainable lifestyle, rather than just a material.

The realization of the Diax Project was a testament to thoughtful design and production. A selection of high-value products was created from 3D models and silicone molds, based on the material's unique qualities. The exhibit also featured texture blocks that demonstrated how Diax could be mixed with various substances, such as cement and clay, to achieve different textures and finishes.

Spanning an area of 6 x 6 meters, the exhibit was cleverly arranged into sections, each highlighting a different application of Diax, from horticulture to paints and plasters. The central 'X' area of the exhibit was a focal point, drawing visitors into the space to discover the ten showcased products. The design team, including Victor Wu, Tzuhsu Lin, and Craig Bossley, ensured that the exhibit was not only visually appealing but also interactive, allowing visitors to touch and feel the innovative material.

The Diax Project's success was not just in its design but also in its operation. The open layout, combined with strategic spotlighting and hand-level placement of samples, encouraged visitor interaction. The exchange of business cards for product sample bags facilitated networking and led to the formation of several new partnerships. The exhibit's popularity on social media and the rapid distribution of material samples underscored its impact.

Conceived in April 2023 and showcased in July 2023 at the Experience Life exhibition in Tainan, Taiwan, the Diax Project is a shining example of how design can overcome the challenge of exhibition waste. By opting for rented modular components and creating an aesthetic yet meaningful space, Leafer Circular Design not only showcased Diax's potential but also established a new standard for sustainable exhibit design. This project has set the stage for a brighter, more sustainable future, with Diax at the forefront of material innovation.
