Embodying the spirit of the world's most beloved sport, the World Cup play unit is more than just a playground structure; it's a celebration of football's universal joy. Designed by the innovative minds at Cemer Design Center, this play unit stands out with its football-inspired aesthetics and a design that encourages children to embark on a challenging climbing journey, reminiscent of the triumphs experienced by athletes in the World Cup.
What sets the World Cup play unit apart is its unique ability to enhance children's motor skills through an engaging 3D climbing experience. The cylindrical structure, adorned with wire mesh frames, not only ensures safety but also allows for parental supervision and panoramic views for the young climbers. This thoughtful design promotes hand-eye coordination and helps children become more aware of heights in a secure environment.
The production of the World Cup play unit involves cutting-edge technology and patented methods. The ropes, crafted with galvanized wires and polyester, provide durability and ease of assembly, thanks to the patented tensioning system. The metal components undergo a rigorous three-step finishing process, ensuring the play unit's longevity and safety.
With dimensions catering to children aged five and above, the World Cup play unit can accommodate up to 55 young adventurers at a time. The design includes a variety of play elements such as slides, swings, and balance games, all integrated within the structure to offer a comprehensive play experience that fosters social interaction and equality among its users.
The inception of this project took place in Madrid, Spain, with the design phase starting in January 2021 and the assembly completed by August 2023. The Cemer Design Center team undertook extensive research to ensure the playground not only met safety standards but also contributed to the physical and social development of children. The design challenges, including material adaptation and capturing the essence of football, were overcome through dedication and collaborative efforts, resulting in a product that is both safe and exhilarating for children.
Recognition for the World Cup play unit's design excellence came in the form of a Silver A' Design Award in the Playground Equipment, Play Structures, and Public Park Design category for 2024. This prestigious accolade is a testament to the creativity, innovation, and professional execution that Cemer Design Center brings to the world of playground design, creating spaces where children can play, learn, and grow.
