Feixi County's historical depth and recent economic boom are the dual narratives masterfully interwoven in a poster designed by Feixi Digital Culture and Media. The design, which recently garnered the Iron A' Design Award, serves as a visual narrative of the county's evolution. The poster's unique feature is the artistic rendition of the Chinese characters for "Feixi," which cleverly juxtaposes the county's ancient heritage with its modern architectural landmarks.
The design process involved meticulous hand-drawn calligraphy, transformed into a digital masterpiece using advanced image editing software. The result is a 297mmX210mm poster that is not only visually striking but also rich in symbolic meaning. The design team, led by Creative Director Liu Xinguang and Executive Director Wei Wei, along with designers Wang Lei, Sun Hong, Xing Luyan, and Zhao Chenyu, have created an impactful visual statement that resonates with both locals and visitors alike.
Feixi's poster is more than a static image; it is an interactive piece that engages viewers through its strategic placement in both online and physical media platforms. The design's integration of recognizable silhouettes such as bridges and high-speed railways invites the audience to connect the imagery with the county's identity, fostering a sense of belonging and community pride.
The project's timeline spanned from December 2023 to January 2024, with the posters being displayed in March 2024. The research behind the design included an in-depth look at Feixi's landmarks, such as the Jinzhai Road Double A Bridge and the Taohua Science and Innovation Valley Industrial Park, as well as historical sites like the Sanhe Ancient Town and the former residence of Liu Ming.
One of the greatest challenges the design team faced was creating a poster that would evoke an emotional response from both new and long-standing residents. By carefully selecting visual elements that reflect both the modern progress and the rich historical tapestry of Feixi, the design successfully bridges the gap between the county's past and present.
The Feixi poster stands as a testament to the power of design in articulating a community's collective memory and aspirations. It is a visual celebration of Feixi's journey, honoring its roots while embracing the winds of change. This Iron A' Design Award-winning creation not only documents Feixi's transformation but also inspires a shared vision for its future.
