Benjamin Eddy's Award-Winning Trimaran Yacht Design

Unlike most trimaran yachts that are designed solely for sport, Ni Ji Jing exudes aesthetic appeal while offering the superior stability of a trimaran layout over a monohull. Eddy's design stands out in the market, offering a unique blend of luxury and performance that is hard to find in small yachts.

The Ni Ji Jing is constructed with a Glass/Kevlar hull and an aluminium body shell, reflecting a commitment to durability and quality. With a length overall (LOA) of 11.5m, a beam of 4.7m, and a draft of 0.48m, the yacht is designed to deliver an exceptional marine experience.

Functionality is at the heart of Ni Ji Jing's design. The yacht can be operated from either the exterior navigation area or the interior navigation seat. The exterior features a BBQ and seating area, while the interior houses a kitchenette with a sink and fridge, a small bathroom with a toilet and sink, and a seating/dining area that can convert into a bed.

The design process, which took place in Coventry from October to December 2011, involved extensive research on small power boats, particularly focusing on Wally and Fjord. The absence of trimaran power boats in the market posed a challenge, but Eddy successfully incorporated the outriggers into the main hull to create a flowing composition.

Ni Ji Jing's unique design and functionality have not gone unnoticed. In 2012, it was awarded the Golden A' Yacht and Marine Vessels Design Award, a prestigious accolade granted to outstanding and trendsetting creations that advance art, science, design, and technology. This award is a testament to Eddy's innovative approach and the potential of Ni Ji Jing to revolutionize the yachting industry.
