Alliance against AIDS: A Diamond Pendant with a Message

Seyed Mohammad Mortazavi's Design Symbolizes Global Solidarity

In a world where design often intersects with social issues, Seyed Mohammad Mortazavi's 'Alliance against AIDS' diamond pendant stands out. This piece of jewelry is not just an accessory, but a symbol of unity and empathy for those affected by AIDS.

The inspiration for this design comes from the Red Ribbon, a globally recognized symbol of empathy, solidarity, and support for those living with AIDS. Mortazavi reimagined this symbol as a diamond pendant, aiming to encourage a sense of global responsibility and sympathy for those battling the disease. His hope is that one day, the world can celebrate the cessation of AIDS.

What sets this design apart is its dual function. It is not only a piece of jewelry but also a symbol of unity and empathy. Created by Frank Moore 20 years ago, the Red Ribbon campaign aimed to prevent the disease and sympathize with people living with AIDS. Wearing this pendant signifies a commitment to love, help, and stand in solidarity with those affected by AIDS.

The pendant is made from 18k white gold and adorned with 398 round diamonds, weighing a total of 1.95 carats. It can be produced using CAD-CAM systems like CNC machines or 3D printers, just like any other piece of jewelry. Alternatively, it can be crafted by an experienced jeweler and diamond setter.

The project was initiated in May 2012 and completed in June 2012 in Tehran, Iran. The design process involved extensive research into the origins of HIV, AIDS supporting communities and NGOs, and the creation of a symbol to unite people in their efforts to help each other.

This design is not just a piece of jewelry but a symbol of unity. It serves as a campaign to prevent the disease and sympathize with people living with AIDS. The idea behind it is to make a difference by wearing this jewelry as a symbol of love and help among people. Mortazavi designed this pendant to encourage all people of the world with a sense of responsibility to help each other and make an alliance against AIDS.

In recognition of its innovative design and powerful message, the 'Alliance against AIDS' pendant was awarded the Golden A' Jewelry, Eyewear, and Watch Design Award in 2013. This prestigious award is granted to marvelous, outstanding, and trendsetting creations that reflect the designer's prodigy and wisdom. They are venerated products and bright ideas that advance art, science, design, and technology, embodying extraordinary excellence and significantly impacting the world with their desirable characteristics.
