Pharmacy Gate 4D: A Promise for Life

An Innovative Corporate Architecture Concept by Peter Stasek Architect

The project "Pharmacy Gate 4D" is a groundbreaking architectural concept for the entrance hall of a German branch of a global pharmaceutical company. Designed by Peter Stasek Architect, this unique concept combines material and immaterial elements to create a captivating media platform that embodies the company's slogan, "A Promise for Life."

The centerpiece of the design is an oversized bowl, reminiscent of an abstract alchemy goblet. Above the bowl, a holographic diagram of a floating DNA strand is projected, symbolizing the promise of life. The hologram rotates slowly, representing the flow of life and the interplay between light and life itself. This captivating visual not only showcases the company's commitment to advancing medical research but also creates a sense of ease and well-being.

Surrounding the bowl are organically shaped wall coverings with perforations in abstract organic structures, evoking the image of muscle fibers. These coverings serve as a backdrop for the hologram and create a smooth and unintrusive environment. The interior also features a 3D TV in a 21:9 format, providing internal and external news to all occupants of the hall and enhancing communication within the space.

The choice of materials further enhances the design's aesthetic appeal. Smooth surfaces, such as Corian with rounded edges, are used throughout the interior. The elevator shaft is covered with silver-colored panels made from extruded aluminum, resembling bone structure and adding a constructive element to the space. The floor is coated with a joint-free concrete-like material, which not only provides a seamless look but also forms the basis of the entire composition, "A Promise for Life."

The holographic implementation of the DNA model was developed in collaboration with Linda Law, Executive Director of the Center for 4D Arts in New York. The virtual 3D DNA model itself was created by the Department of Environmental Health in Cincinnati and made available by scientific assistant Alexey Porollo. The Human Genome Research Center at Cold Spring Harbor Labs in Long Island is responsible for the holographic realization of the DNA model.

Pharmacy Gate 4D is a testament to the cutting-edge technology and innovation of the global pharmaceutical industry. This corporate architecture concept not only showcases the company's commitment to scientific advancement but also creates an immersive and visually stunning environment for employees and visitors alike.

Pharmacy Gate 4D was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in 2014 in recognition of its outstanding creativity, technical expertise, and innovation. This prestigious award celebrates designs that demonstrate exceptional skill and introduce a sense of wonder and amazement.
