The inspiration for the VOLCANO design came from the awe-inspiring power and beauty of volcanic eruptions. Just like magma breaking through the earth's crust, the VOLCANO furniture breaks through conventional design boundaries, allowing for various forms of sitting and lying. The process of hot lava cooling and hardening, resulting in changes in color and texture, served as the foundation for this mesmerizing piece of furniture.

What sets the VOLCANO design apart is its construction from a round wooden surface with strategically placed holes. Soft tubes pass through these holes, creating a dynamic and adaptable sitting experience. The tubes conform to your body, providing comfort and support in various sitting positions. The VOLCANO design is realized using a plywood surface covered with Formica, featuring 24 holes. Through these holes, 24 fabric tubes filled with styrofoam pass, creating the unique sitting experience. The furniture is washable, ensuring easy maintenance and longevity.

First exhibited in 2013 at the SUPERSTUDIO during the Milano Design Week, the VOLCANO design has since been showcased at prestigious events such as the ICFF during the New York Design Week and the 100% DESIGN as part of the London Design Festival. Its innovative and captivating design has garnered attention and admiration from design enthusiasts worldwide.

Overcoming the challenges of finding the perfect material for the tubes was a crucial aspect of the design process. The comfort and functionality of the tubes were of utmost importance to ensure an enjoyable sitting experience.
