Sheraton Bursa: A Stunning Hotel Design by Ayhan Guneri

Introducing Sheraton Bursa

During the construction of Sheraton Bursa, an introductory animation was needed to visually present the hotel. The animation aimed to provide a comprehensive view of every part of the hotel, guiding visitors through its various spaces and amenities.

What sets Sheraton Bursa apart is its interior design, meticulously crafted by Atolye A Architecture. The project involved modeling various common areas, including the lobby, conference rooms, the main restaurant, the Fitness & Spa Center, Turkish baths, massage rooms, the executive lounge, the pool, resting rooms, as well as standard rooms, suites, and the presidential suite. This extensive modeling process took four months to complete.

After the modeling phase, all the areas were transformed into a captivating 4.30-second animation consisting of 6750 frames. This animation became a crucial element in successfully introducing Sheraton Bursa to the world.

The realization of this design was made possible through the use of advanced technology. The rendering process involved preparing 6600 frames in 3000 hours using professional render computers equipped with 16-core Xeon processors and 48GB RAM. Software such as 3dsmax, V-Ray, and AutoCAD were utilized to bring the design to life.

One of the notable challenges faced during the creation of the animation was optimizing the polygon count for each space while ensuring the inclusion of necessary accessories. By using V-Ray proxy, the team managed to strike a balance between visual quality and rendering time, resulting in stunning render frames.

Sheraton Bursa's animation serves as a virtual tour, allowing viewers to explore the hotel's exquisite interiors and amenities. The attention to detail and the realistic visualization of each space make this design truly exceptional.

Ayhan Guneri, the mastermind behind Sheraton Bursa, has received recognition for his outstanding work. This design was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Movie, Video, and Animation Design category in 2014.
