Cast Oven: A Fusion of Functionality and Aesthetic Appeal

The Cast Oven was inspired by the desire to create an appliance that is contemporaneous, not over-designed, and flexible enough to be used in different markets. The team aimed to design an oven that would be the best fit for large families, offering large interiors and a strong technical performance.

What sets the Cast Oven apart from other designs is its integration within the wall, characterized by a flat surface. The oven features a recessed edge that runs the perimeter, serving as a handle. This innovative design choice was driven by the aim to eliminate the often contrasting visual element that standard handles in common ovens present with respect to the existing kitchen’s furniture and style.

The minimal look of the Cast Oven was made possible thanks to Beko's touch screen display technology, which allows the user to interact with the appliance. This design feature not only enhances the aesthetic appeal of the oven but also improves its functionality.

The design process of the Cast Oven was not without challenges. The team had to work within a tight schedule, from the design processes to the presentation phase, all within a few months. Moreover, they had to harmonize apparently contradictory aspects: pure functionality and technical performance with appealing design.

Despite these challenges, the Cast Oven is a testament to the team's ability to create a product that adheres to Beko’s mission: to produce reliable and environmentally respectful home appliances that are not only beautiful but also have a strong functional design. This design was recognized with the Golden A' Home Appliances Design Award in 2014, a prestigious accolade granted to marvelous, outstanding, and trendsetting creations.
