Fudge & Toffee: A Perfect Blend of Tradition and Modernity

Indulgence at its Finest

The solution was a black packaging that makes the product images precedence. The photo concept was inspired by the style of classic pralinés. A younger target group to be addressed by the color and a loosened typography. We have tried to create the balancing act between tradition and modernity.

Designing a new fudge and toffee-range for an innovative company that reconstitutes itself as a producer of high-quality confectionery, the Gabriel Design Team has created something truly unique. The Fudge & Toffee packaging is lavishly designed, printed with hot foil, and finished with a noble and high-gloss touch. This design sets the scene for premium products, highlighting the enjoyment and quality ingredients that go into each piece.

What sets this design apart is the small crease in the cover, enhanced by gold foil, which makes these products stand out on the shelves and justifies a higher price. The folding box, printed in seven colors and finished with hotfoil, ensures a deep black color that exudes elegance and sophistication. The wave/kink at the upper end of the packaging box not only adds a touch of uniqueness but also provides incredible stability.

Measuring 115 x 55 x 200, the Fudge & Toffee packaging is not only visually appealing but also functional. The back of the carton shuts securely with a tongue and groove, ensuring that the contents remain fresh and protected.

With its mix of classic and modern design elements, the Fudge & Toffee packaging appeals to all age groups. It offers a touch of indulgence and is not only perfect for special occasions but also as a delightful treat for any day. The Gabriel Design Team has successfully struck a balance between tradition and modernity, creating a product range that captivates consumers and leads to rising sales.

The project, which started in October 2012 in Hamburg, was completed in March 2013. While there was no market research involved, the design team relied on their instincts and creativity to create a packaging that would resonate with global consumers.

The Fudge & Toffee packaging has received recognition for its outstanding design. It was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in 2014 in the Packaging Design category. This prestigious award is bestowed upon designs that exhibit strong technical and creative skills, contributing to improvements in quality of life.
