The inspiration for the Landridge House came from the owners' desire to have more showcases while maintaining a spacious interior. The design team at Renaissance Planners & Designers brainstormed solutions to address these requirements. The result is a design that seamlessly integrates showcases into architectural elements like walls and doors, providing a platform for the owners to display their collection of souvenirs and artifacts from around the world.
One of the standout features of the Landridge House is the use of unique materials. Black stainless steel, beige tinted mirror, and natural wood veneers are incorporated throughout the design. The beige tinted mirror adds warmth to the interior and creates an illusion of a larger space. Even the glass railings are tinted beige, complemented by solid walnut handrails. This attention to detail and choice of materials elevates the overall aesthetic of the house.
To maximize storage space without compromising on design, the master bedroom headboard is transformed into storage compartments. This clever solution provides additional storage while maintaining a clean and uncluttered look. Additionally, one of the existing bathrooms is split to create an additional powder room for guests, ensuring their privacy is respected.
The realization of the Landridge House design involved the use of advanced technology. The dining area drop ceiling, made from black stainless steel, not only serves as a focal point for the chandelier but also reflects light, creating a visually stunning effect without appearing bulky.
The Landridge House project, which took place in Singapore from January to August 2013, presented several challenges. The design team had to find a balance between creating more showcases and maintaining a spacious interior. Through their creative and technical expertise, Renaissance Planners & Designers successfully overcame these challenges, resulting in a design that seamlessly integrates functionality and aesthetics.
The Landridge House design has received recognition for its excellence. It was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2014. This prestigious award celebrates designs that demonstrate outstanding expertise, innovation, and artistic skill. The Landridge House design, with its unique features and attention to detail, truly deserves this accolade.
The Landridge House, designed by Renaissance Planners & Designers, showcases the perfect blend of art, architecture, and innovation. With its unique materials, clever storage solutions, and seamless integration of showcases, this residential design sets a new standard for sophisticated living.
