Wangtao's Innovative Design Breathes New Life into a Century-Old Brand

The Tsingtao 1903 bar is the starting point of the Community Pub Plan of Tsingtao Beer Company and is the very first store in this chain. The design of the bar is unique, with a focus on being low cost, fast to replicate, and environmentally friendly. Almost all of the materials used in the construction of the bar are recycled or reused, reflecting the brand's commitment to sustainability.

One of the unique features of the bar is its doors, which can be opened in two different ways. During the hot season, the door can be widely open to allow better flow in-and-out. During the colder seasons, a smaller door can be used for better insulation. This design feature enhances the user experience and adapts to the changing seasons.

The design of the bar is also characterized by its simplicity and geometric stereo segmentation style. A large entrance door is used to weaken the division between the outside space and the inside space, creating a seamless transition and a welcoming atmosphere. The bar is designed to be an experiential space, where meeting new friends is made easy by the around operation area.

The project, which began in January 2014 and was completed in April 2014, was not without its challenges. The main challenge was to create a youthful space that also represents the historical values of the Tsingtao beer brand. Despite the limited project budget and relatively small construction site, Wangtao was able to overcome these challenges and create a design that is both innovative and respectful of the brand's history.

The Tsingtao 1903 bar is more than just a bar. It is a symbol of the Tsingtao beer brand's commitment to innovation, sustainability, and community. With its unique design and environmentally friendly construction, it is a model for future community pubs and a testament to the power of design in revitalizing a century-old brand.
