Xima: A Human Machine Interface Design

Enhancing User Experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry

Linearity, intuitiveness, iconicity, scalability: these are the criteria upon which Xima, a human machine interface (HMI) design, is built. Created by Ima Active, Xima stands out in the pharmaceutical industry for its compliance with market constraints and ease of use. The result is a human-centered design that improves the sense of control for operators working with the machine interface.

Utilizing multi-touchscreen technology, Xima incorporates features such as wifi, bluetooth, OPC, iOS, and cloud connectivity. This allows for seamless integration and communication between devices, ensuring a smooth and efficient user experience. Xima is scalable to multiple touch screen devices, ranging from 7-inch to 19-inch monitors, including a pilot project on mobile devices.

The development of Xima was not without its challenges. The pharmaceutical market is known for its strict regulations, complex tasks handled by automatic machines, and high quality standards for the final product. Ima Active faced the question of whether it was possible to design an interface that complied with all these restrictions while remaining easy to use. The answer came in the form of Xima.

Xima is the result of extensive research and collaboration among graphic designers, software engineers, and various departments within Ima Active. By establishing synergies among different skills, the team was able to create a design that not only met the market's constraints but also enhanced the operators' predictive capability. This reduction in risk of critical situations ultimately improves the quality of the final product.

The Xima project spanned two years and was developed by Ima Active's Hw Sw Technical Department, Marketing Department, and Pharma Communication Department, in collaboration with Hotminds. The result is a design that simplifies the user experience, increases efficiency, and ensures compliance with industry regulations.

Xima's excellence and innovation were recognized with the Silver A' Design Award in 2015. This prestigious award is given to designs that demonstrate outstanding expertise, creativity, and technical characteristics. Xima's human-centered design and remarkable level of excellence evoke positive feelings, amazement, and wonder.
