Tresor Bracelet: A Fusion of Nature's Beauty and Elegance

An Asymmetric Curved Bracelet Inspired by the Arkansas River

The Tresor Bracelet, designed by Deborah Vivas, is a stunning piece of art jewelry that captures the essence of nature's architecture, patterns, and textures. Inspired by the flow of the Arkansas River and the treasures found along its path, this bracelet combines raw gemstones, mild steel, and high karat gold to create a unique and powerful design.

What sets the Tresor Bracelet apart is its asymmetric curved shape, which fits comfortably on the wearer's arm. Made from a combination of mild steel and high karat gold, the bracelet offers a light yet powerful feel in an elegant form. The fusion of different gold alloys creates a unique pattern that adds to its eye-catching appeal. A raw topaz crystal, set in recycled 18 kt gold, completes the design, making it a true statement piece for those who want to stand out from the crowd.

To bring the Tresor Bracelet to life, Deborah Vivas employed a range of techniques. The bracelet was hand-formed, salt water etched, and carved to give it its distinctive form and texture. The fusion of two different gold alloys to the mild steel was achieved at temperatures over 1000°C, resulting in a seamless integration of materials. The bracelet was then heat oxidized and finished with natural waxes to protect its unique appearance.

Measuring 50mm in width, 70mm in length, and 50mm in height, the Tresor Bracelet is a true testament to the designer's craftsmanship and attention to detail. Its bold and elegant design makes it suitable for wearing on either the forearm or wrist, adding a touch of sophistication to any outfit.

The journey of creating the Tresor Bracelet began in July 2014 in Salida, Colorado, and was completed in August 2014 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Throughout the design process, Deborah Vivas conducted extensive research on light and shade patterns reflected in moving water, aiming to reproduce those patterns in a wearable form. The challenge of fusing different shades of gold to mild steel was overcome through the use of non-commercial gold alloys and flux specifically made for this technique.

The Tresor Bracelet has garnered recognition for its exceptional design. In 2016, it was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in the Fine Arts and Art Installation Design category. This prestigious award recognizes well-designed, practical, and innovative creations that meet professional and industrial requirements. The Tresor Bracelet stands out for its integration of industry best practices, competent technical characteristics, and its ability to evoke positive feelings and contribute to a better world.

The Tresor Bracelet, with its fusion of nature's beauty and elegance, is a testament to Deborah Vivas' artistic vision and skill. Its unique design and meticulous craftsmanship make it a true treasure for those who appreciate the intersection of art, architecture, and design.
