Gilles Laot, a renowned metalworker and artist, presents his latest creation - the Vortex Metallic Vases. These decorative vases draw inspiration from organic and vegetal forms, resulting in a captivating and unique design.
Laot's expertise in metalwork is evident in the craftsmanship of these vases. Each piece is meticulously handcrafted using a specialized hammer technique. The metal sheet is carefully shaped and formed, requiring thousands of precise hammer blows to achieve the final result.
What sets the Vortex Metallic Vases apart is their intricate exterior decorations. Laot's attention to detail is evident in the delicate patterns and textures adorning the surface of each vase. The final touch is the glaze, which adds a stunning color to the piece, enhancing its visual appeal.
The Vortex Metallic Vases come in two variations - the Inferno and Vortex 3. The Inferno stands at a height of 230mm with a width of 150mm. It features a black patina with a green background, crafted from demi-red metal. This vase is truly one-of-a-kind. On the other hand, the Vortex 3 is a copper vase with a height of 130mm and a width of 150mm. It boasts a glossy black patina, making it a striking addition to any space.
Laot's dedication to his craft is evident in the time and effort he puts into each piece. The creation of these vases takes approximately 100 hours, showcasing his commitment to excellence. The Vortex Metallic Vases are made in France, adding a touch of French artistry and craftsmanship to their allure.
