In the basement of the villa, LIEN TZU CHENG employs a clever use of wood structures and semi-open partitions to create a free space that adjusts the environmental rhythm. The incorporation of classical Chinese four art, including pine trees and flowers, enhances the energy throughout the area. Natural light plays a crucial role in the design, creating a checkered pattern of sunlight and shade that adds a sense of hierarchy. This harmonious ambiance brings comfort, peace, and quiet to all who enter.
The design of this villa goes beyond mere aesthetics, serving as a spiritual communication between the space and its inhabitants. LIEN TZU CHENG's intention is to convey the cultural value and inner necessity of human beings through the careful arrangement of space and structure. By blending eastern and western influences, the design fosters a dialogue between different cultures, resulting in a unique and captivating living environment.
One of the challenges faced during the design process was the lighting in the basement. Recognizing the impact of lighting on the residents' emotions, LIEN TZU CHENG ingeniously used natural light to create a sense of balance and hierarchy. The energy within the space spreads to every corner that the light reaches, creating a harmonious atmosphere. The tonality of the design also mitigates conflicts between different styles, ensuring a cohesive and visually pleasing space.
The villa, spanning 712 square meters, was completed in January 2014 in Shanghai, China. Throughout the design process, LIEN TZU CHENG conducted extensive research to ensure that the elegance and cultural significance of the design were effectively conveyed. The result is a villa that not only showcases the designer's expertise and innovation but also provides a space for personal introspection and cultural appreciation.
This exceptional design has been recognized with the prestigious Silver A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2016. This award celebrates designs that demonstrate outstanding technical characteristics, artistic skill, and innovation. LIEN TZU CHENG's villa truly embodies excellence and evokes positive emotions, leaving a lasting impression on all who experience it.
