The design of The Harbor House sets it apart from others in its category. The living room, dining room, bedrooms, and open kitchen islands are strategically arranged along the long axis of the public space, creating a seamless spatial experience. The use of veneer on the walls and ceilings, along with carefully curated furniture placement, enhances the sense of continuity and flow throughout the house. The master bedroom, positioned closest to the bay, allows for uninterrupted views, while the balcony, bedrooms, and bath area break down spatial barriers, promoting a shared view of the surroundings.
The realization of The Harbor House involved the abundant use of natural oak veneer. Deliberate grooves and protruding wood bars were left to create a play of light and shadow on the walls, reminiscent of design styles from the 1980s. The veneer underwent a smoke treatment to enhance its color variation and improve its resistance to weather and UV damage.
With a total area of 414 sq. m., The Harbor House seamlessly combines the interior public space with the beautiful harbor view. The axis of the house leads to a balcony adorned with lush greenery, creating an intriguing visual connection. The gloss removing treatment on the walls and the carefully arranged items contribute to a sense of coherence and security throughout the house. The design aims to provide an open and healing space for residents to fully enjoy the proximity to the harbor and bay.
