Square: A Contemporary Door Handle Design

Combining Form and Function in a Minimalist Aesthetic

The Square door handle design was born out of Xenofon Hector Grigorelis' visit to the showroom of "OLIVARI" at Salone del Mobile in Milan. Inspired by the practicality and ubiquity of door handles in our daily lives, Grigorelis began sketching designs, with a special focus on the square shape that is characteristic of the Bauhaus movement.

What sets the Square door handle apart is its form and the way the lines and volumes are combined. The handle's strict lines and geometric shape make it suitable for any modern interior. From an architectural perspective, Grigorelis aimed to create an object that seamlessly connects the external form to the interior space.

The Square door handle design was digitally created using CAD and 3D modeling software. It can be produced in various finishes, including silver, gold, bronze, matte, or polished, allowing for customization to suit different interior styles and preferences. Additionally, the entire range follows EU norms, ensuring quality and compliance with industry standards.

One of the key strengths of the Square door handle design is its ergonomic use. The shape of the handle is designed to facilitate natural human motion sequences, making it comfortable and easy to operate. This attention to ergonomics enhances the overall user experience and functionality of the handle.

Although the Square door handle design is currently in the concept stage and has not been prototyped or constructed, it has already garnered recognition in the design community. In 2016, it was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in the Furniture Accessories, Hardware, and Materials Design category. This prestigious accolade is a testament to the innovative and visually striking nature of the design.
